Additional needs

We have a dedicated SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) who is experienced in working with families of children with additional support and or educational needs. The SENCo works with other professionals and agencies to ensure children are given the opportunity to reach their potential.

Disabilities

DisabilitiesOur nursery is fully wheelchair and limited ability friendly. We have dedicated disabled parking, toilets, an access ramp and a lift to the first floor.

In addition to our disabled access facilitates, each child has a named “key person” member of staff who will have responsibility for a small group of children. Their role is to know your child and provide a sense of security and comfort whilst taking care of their individual needs, preferences and development. The key person will support and encourage your child learn new skills at their own pace by weekly planning based on their interests, observations and discussions with you. They will also create and share a record of development which consists of art work, photographs, observations and all their achievements, which you get to keep.

Looked after children

A ‘Looked after Child’ is a child in public care, who is placed with foster carers, in a residential home or with parents/carers or other relatives.

We are able to offer places with the support of the local authority. The designated safeguarding lead and key person liaises with agencies and professionals involved with the child, and his or her family, and ensure appropriate information is gained and shared.
