Need help with fees?

“Free” sessions for 3 & 4 year olds. When your child turns 3, you will be able to claim 15 hours of free nursery education. You can take this over 3 or more days and it is available from the term after your child’s 3rd birthday. The grant is for 38 weeks of the year. At learning works this includes healthy snacks and lunch if your child stays all day, just snacks and drinks if half a day. If you want to claim this funding just ask and we will apply for the grant as soon as your child becomes eligible.

“Free” sessions for 2 year olds. The 2 Year Old Programme may be available for you to access the term after your child’s second birthday, this also enables you to claim 15 hours. There are limited places because the funding is very vulnerable where you have to claim for a term at a time.

Tax credits

If you work and pay for childcare you may be able to get tax credits to help with the costs, the amount you may get depends on various things, including your annual income. If you want to find out more about child tax credit, telephone the helpline on 034 5300 3900 between 8am and 8pm, seven days a week.

Voucher system

Many employers are now offering these vouchers in lieu of salary, the childcare vouchers are usually received instead of part of your salary, through a system known as ‘Salary Sacrifice’. Unlike your salary, you don’t have to pay any tax or national insurance on childcare vouchers.
